Vacation Time
I am going on a short vacation with Philbert and the 2 kids. We’re going to Dipolog which is a 2nd class city and the capital of the province of Zamboanga del Norte on the southern Philippine island of Mindanao.
Initially, I thought I was really crazy to get talked into travel planning at the last minute..But even I have to admit that this a great time for the family vacation. While time away is an opportunity for fun, relaxation, and togetherness. This trip was not an easy trip to arrange because the tickets were expensive. Philbert even joked that it’s cheaper to buy chevy accessories . But although I know that arranging a trip for everyone isn’t always easy.
I know that I still had to it because this event is very important because this will be the source of some of our most potent and pleasing memories, both for the kids and for us as parents.
As a child my parents made sure that we travel as a family at least once a year.Doesn’t have to be far we’ve ridden in planes, trains and automobiles. You name we did it. That’s why I know that this trip will really be good for us.
The extra challenge is travelling with Joshwa who was Autism. Now that he has discovered how great the internet is. It’ll be interesting to find out how he’ll react when he goes to a place that isn’t hooked up to the internet. In all honesty I’ve met many parents who have an autistic child who do not like to travel because they are concerned about how the child will handle the change and disruption, or are overwhelmed at the thought of managing the certain behaviors their child might exhibit in public. Leaving the security of home to a new place can be off putting for a child with autism.
Another challenge is Adee and this is what I dread more her terrible two tantrums.I just plan to pack finger foods like bananas, apples, and pears.I know that we can survive this trip. I think I’m just stressed about this whole thing.

Great Post!
