Don’t Drink and Drive
01/26/11
I can say this time and time again don’t drink and drive. If you want to drink have a designated driver if you don’t have one then don’t drink at all. It’s all so simple and yet people don’t even think about the consequences. Look at what happened to my sister in law and her family. They were killed by a drunk driver. Had he sought alcohol rehab in California maybe they would still be alive by now.
I don’t even know the state of this person’s mental health was doing drugs. I don’t really know maybe he should have looked into drug rehab info
or heroin rehab options if he was on drugs. I know that I could only dwell on the past and none of that could bring them back.
I really support the following:
- Education (about the dangers of drunk driving), advocacy and victim assistance
- Strict policy in a variety of areas, including an illegal blood alcohol content of .08% or higher and using stronger sanctions for DUI offenders, including mandatory jail sentences, treatment for alcoholism and other alcohol abuse issues, ignition interlock devices, and license suspensions
- Helping victims of drunk driving (this includes family members and other loved ones of both innocent victims and guilty impaired drivers)
