Moving on With Contractubex

There are life experiences that leave marks or scars on our skin. Those who had an active and adventurous childhood probably have scars on their knees and elbows from scrapes while playing. The boys may get away with an interesting or macho story behind their scars, but this isn’t the case when it comes to girls. Having a scar can affect the way women dress up or carry themselves, and even result to loss of confidence or esteem. I was glad to be part of The “Move On Club” event of  Contractubex ointment once again.

(L-R) Dr. Librojo, Maricar Reyes, Belle Gascon and Janice Lagman

Dr. Librojo clearly explained the different types of scars: Raised or Hypertrophic scar—forms after the healing of the wound and is caused by overproduction of connective tissue fibers; tends to bulge and protrude above level of surrounding skin; and Keloid—almost the same but it bulges above the level of the surrounding skin beyond the original wound edges. HSBC and WWF’s Rain Campaign Teaches Communities to Conserve Water

Enjoying a sip of coffee or tea? Here are some points to ponder.

Though water covers 71% of the planet, less than 1% of it is potable. Over a billion people have no access to safe drinking water. Sourcing and sanitation remains a problem for both urban and rural communities in the Philippines. Worse, climate change and overpopulation threaten what water sources remain.

To improve local water access, the Hongkong Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) partnered with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to promote sustainable water sourcing, sanitation and conservation via a new yearlong campaign.

We all have scars, inside and out. We have freckles from sun exposure, emotional trigger points, broken bones, and broken hearts. Continue reading »
