Storytelling in Galileo Malolos with Tintin Bersola-Babao

Children are naturally imaginative. Telling them stories fuels their imagination as well as increases awareness of the world that they live in. It also boosts their curiosity about other stories, thus motivating them to pick up a book and read for themselves.

In the Galileo Enrichment Learning Program, reading does not end in learning how to read. The program fosters their love for reading by exposing them with a wide range of topics that would cater to a child’s personal needs and interests. Continue reading »

Children In Performing Arts

Children gain many life-long benefits from participating in a performance arts program: self-expression, appreciation for the arts, and the opportunity to channel their energy in positive ways. Unfortunately, budget cuts in many school districts have curtailed or in some cases, eliminated performance arts classes.

Children are by nature curious and imaginative. What better way to nourish their creativity and foster their self-expression than to enroll them in a children’s performance arts program? One of the best in the country is the walnut creek children’s theatre in the San Francisco Bay area. The theatre offers both a three week summer intensive and a semester-long school year program. Now known as Standing Ovations, this excellent children’s theatre was founded by renowned director Barrett Lindsay-Steiner; he and his staff offer training in musical comedy theatre to elementary, middle school, and early high school children and teens.

All children are guaranteed a speaking part, so there are no “bench warmers.” The purpose of the school is to teach children how to act while fostering self-confidence and self-esteem. Many staff members are alumni of the school and bring with them the skills and empathy that were instilled in them when they attended as students. As for the students, no acting experience is required, they need only bring with them their desire and enthusiasm to learn. The theatre accepts children with special needs and offers a need-based scholarship program.C
