Top Tips On Preserving Your Mental Health

It is hardly a secret that modern times bring unprecedented stresses that not everyone is quite equipped to deal with. However, there are some easy ways to help prevent mental breakdown and ensure that your mental health is as strong as it can be. According to many studies devoted to psychiatric research, here are the top ways to make this happen.

1. Know the value in yourself. Try to avoid dangerous acts of self-criticism and take the time to enjoy the hobbies which bring you happiness. Many people find relaxation in the pursuit of broadening their horizons. Libraries are a great way to learn about new things with no monetary investment whatsoever.

2. Treat your body as the temple which it is. Eat healthy foods, try to avoid tobacco consumption and excess alcohol consumption. Remember, water is the fluid of life, so drink plenty of it. Even low-impact moderate exercise has been shown to have many health benefits, one of the foremost being supporting good mental health.

3. Practice coping skills daily to help deal with stress. No matter how much we do not want it to be true, stress is a normal part of life. Learn how to cultivate the positives in stress and bend it to empower you instead of letting it beat you down.

4. Set aside some time on a daily basis where the mind can be cleared. Whether this consists of meditating or just quietly sitting on the porch and watching the clouds go by, this quiet time enables the mind, and thus, the body, to reset itself and re-energize.

5. Set small realistic goals for yourself. Make sure that the goals are challenging so that you can grow from them but not overwhelming so that you feel drowned by daily activities which must be done.

By following these simple tips, you can revel in life’s small victories and lessen the burden of daily stress which are just the by-products of modern life. Remember to always smile and try to find the humor in any situation, no matter how tough it may seem.

Moonstar88 and Jensen and the Flips make new music at Coke Studio

Different generations often find icons to represent themselves, and Coke Studio has brought the voices from two different generations together. The blending of genres and sounds from the past and present shows music’s constant evolution as well as the possibility of even newer and fresher sounds.

In the early 2000s, Moonstar88 skyrocketed to fame with the release of their single Torete which became an iconic song that dictated the distinct sound of their era.

Jensen and the Flips is one of the hottest artists today, rising to the OPM scene with a funky and sexy sound of their own.

This collaboration, being the only pairing of two bands in Coke Studio, was initially met with some apprehension. “I don’t know if we can even fit all their instruments into the studio!” said Coke Studio host Raymund Marasigan jokingly when asked about the interesting match-up. Even Jensen and the Flips front man, Jensen Gomez, admitted that he was skeptic and nervous about being paired with the veteran band. “Totoo ba? Could this be really happening? Of course, we were so pressured! But then we also knew that we had to put on our game face, and not think about that pressure,” he shared.

The collaboration disproved their apprehensions and surprised the two bands and spectators with an easy and smooth blend. “There was no polarizing at all. Everyone really came up with a good song,” said Herbert Hernandez, lead guitarist of Moonstar88. “Genres can really blend well.”

When asked about their collaboration, Moonstar88 vocalist, Mayshelle Baay likened it to that of a constellation – “There are many stars all shining on their own, but still in the same formation in the sky,” she added. The analogy was only fitting for these artists who have proven themselves stars of the OPM scene.

Watch these icons of the past and the present come together to bring the music of the future at Coke Studio. Catch it on August 12, Saturday at 7 p.m. on TV5 or on www.youtube.com/CokeStudioPH.

Coca-cola Launches Coke Studio

Coca Cola launched Coke last Night, July 29, 2017 at SMX Mall of Asia studio to help the OPM and its industry to achieve and have their kind of experience needed by the New Generation singing Millenials who are going to be benefited and most likely new bands to have their new fresh touch of the real thing with regards to the technologies in sounds and digital media. The sounds of Pinoy music will get a refreshing taste as Coke Studio opens in the country, bringing a fresh experience for the local music industry.

The first of its kind in the country, Coke Studio is a music TV show that encourages collaborations among Filipino artists – bringing together different musical genres, the young and seasoned artists, and the mainstream with the indie. Coke Studio is a celebration of the rich diversity in OPM and the central unifying role of music among Filipinos.

“Coke has always been about encouraging personal expression among the younger generation of teens, and what better way to unite them but through a universal language, which is music. This is what Coke Studio is all about. We are making music our tool of choice to connect with teens,” said Stephan Czypionka, Coca-Cola Philippines Vice President for Marketing.

Coke Studio also serves as a stage that will showcase and highlight the wonderfully surprising new music that comes out from the collaborations between OPM legends and upcoming artists: Noel Cabangon, Curtismith, Moonstar88, Jensen and the Flips, Sandwich, BP Valenzuela, Gabby Alipe and John Dinopol of Urbandub, The Ransom Collective, Abra, Gracenote, singer-composer Ebe Dancel, Autotelic, Franco, and singer-songwriter Reese Lansangan.

Coke Studio is hosted by OPM powerhouse Raymund Marasigan and Buddy Zabala, both from Eraserheads – one of the country’s most iconic rock bands. More than just a TV show, Coke Studio brings the viewer to the real experience – giving a first-hand, front seat view of the collaboration and how each artist bares their soul in the performance.

“As soon as they started playing their instruments, they just forgot about everything else,” said Marasigan on the experience inside the Coke Studio. “And a great artist will really come out with something, will produce something! Some artists may have come unprepared, but once they were in there, they just brought it out.”

But the Coke Studio experience does not stop there. An interactive Coke Studio truck will roam around the country to give university bands an opportunity to perform and interact with the artists.
Coke Studio is also joining some of the biggest fiestas and festivals nationwide with the Coke Canreaoke – an interactive installation loaded with OPM hits for anyone who wants to showcase their singing prowess.
Coca-Cola Philippines recognizes the strong influence of music in the lives of Filipinos – a unifying thread that goes beyond language and dialect, political views and boundaries, and even religion.
With Coke Studio, Coca-Cola Philippines brings a new taste to the sound of Pinoy music.

A duathlon is a competition that is composed of running and biking. A Salute to True Heroes

The act of daily commuting puts pressure on the hands and feet, and on the nerves. With the traffic and the sheer number of commuters out there, commuting conditions are far from ideal for nerves. Crowded vehicles, jostling for position in a full train, standing in a moving bus – these can all take their toll on nerves after some time.

This is why Merck came up with its Neuropathy Awareness Campaign. This is in line with the company’s WE100 corporate vision of helping humankind live longer, fuller lives of quality and good health, and is intended to educate Filipinos on Neuropathy, its causes and common symptoms, and ways to prevent it from happening.

Merck Inc., maker of Neurobion, in line with it’s Neuropathy Awareness Campaign, recently launched the Nerve Therapy Trip, an upgraded bus ride for commuters that will provide special treats and also educate them about Neuropathy starting August 7 for 25 days. In photo are Merck General Manager Louie Roxas (middle), Merck Marketing Head Ming Cunanan (2nd from right), Neurobion Brand Manager Loy Dy-Buncio (1st from right) joined by (L to R) Ohdie Arce, Joy Cabrera, Dr. Digna Almeida and Maureen Javier.

This campaign brings the spotlight onto the everyday True Heroes, the men and women who work hard daily to take care of the people they care about.

As Merck Inc.’s Head of Marketing Ming Arroyo-Cunanan put it, “The people who wake up extra early to commute, and then selflessly pour out all their time and energy just to provide for their families — these people are the True Heroes. To be able to work like this every day without complaint and hesitation is very admirable, more so, deserving of some kind of recognition.”

Given the important role of these True Heroes in their families, they undoubtedly deserve recognition and care. These are part of the Neuropathy Awareness Campaign, in which people are urged to take care of their nerves so they can continue their important roles. Nerves deserve to be taken care of.

This comes amid the reality that, while damaged nerves repair naturally via regeneration, after a certain time (when approximately 50% or more of nerve tissue is damaged), the damage is permanent. This so-called “point of no return” makes early detection and diagnosis vital.
The Neurobion Nerve Therapy Trip

In line with Neuropathy Awareness Month, Neurobion decided to give these True Heroes a trip that they wouldn’t expect but most definitely deserve.

Loy Juan Dy-Buncio, Neurobion Brand Manager, said “Neurobion wanted to do something that not only would spread awareness on nerve damage, but would also serve as a treat to those who are susceptible to it, and these are the working-class Filipinos.”

And with that, the Nerve Therapy Trip was born Launched recently, the Nerve Therapy Trip will provide an upgraded bus ride that keeps passengers relaxed as they head to and from work.

Neuro Motion

The Nerve Therapy Trip will also teach them how to care for their nerves despite their busy lives with the Neuro Motion video, a collection of simple exercises that the regular person can perform on the way to work or even at the office. Video will be played during the Nerve Therapy Trip.

To experience the Nerve Therapy Trip for yourself, look for the Neurobion buses on the Alabang-Navotas route and vice versa for 25 days beginning August 7. Take a ride to #LoveYourNerves!

S.A.M. is the only Singapore math program that is actually made in Singapore and taught in Singapore. It is an award winning program that offers Singaporean math through enjoyable and interactive methods. S.A.M. comes with a comprehensive worksheet program that intends to hone independent-learning. Carefully crafted, using the step up approach, it’s designed to reinforce the different mathematical concepts explored and boost the child’s confidence in mathematics.

Venturing into S.A.M. is like investing in a child’s future. Aside from teaching Singaporean math, S.A.M. also grooms students to be future achievers as it fosters quality education and self-exploration.

Owning and running a S.A.M. may seem like a walk in the park for some, but it is the thrust of its founders to ensure a stable and sustainable business model through exemplary leadership. A franchisee must meet the necessary educational and professional requirements in order to own a S.A.M. franchise.

For a *minimum fee of PhP 136,000.00, one can already own a Single Unit Franchise which is valid for three years. The estimated set up cost composed of construction, training and other operational systems and equipment, including the franchise fee, will add up to roughly around PhP 350,000 – 900,000.00.
Franchisees and Trainers must undergo a comprehensive 6-7 day training program to ensure that they are able to deliver the curriculum and manage the center. There will also be regular audits and visits, individual franchisee and national meetings with the Singaporean Master Franchisee and team to guide them. Moreover, managing the business is made easier through the IT softwares OCTAL Trainers’ Management and ECOLE Administrative Systems, and of course, S.A.M.’s corporate support.

Enrich Asia, which brought S.A.M. to the Philippines, will soon open other educational programs in the Philippines such as Unique English Classroom and Robotics.
